Concept document deadline & workshop info

At the end of February two things happen: the deadline for the concept documents is on the 25th and we organize a workshop on the 28th.

The concept document is a mix between a game design document and a pitch document, and should contain no more than one page of text. However, teams are encouraged to enclose lots of concept art. Read the rules for concept documents here. The purpose of this is to force the teams to formulate their idea in text. If you, by the end of February, have not done that then getting your game ready in time will be a problem. So, it is still possible to participate in the competition without a concept document (and even win), but we strongly encourage you to write one. Take a look at two concept documents from 2007 winners here: Gravitron Ultra & Harvest

Participants can submit concept documents online at gameawards.se by logging in and going to the Edit page for their entry, where a form is available. Any problems or questions regarding concept document submission may be sent to concept@gameawards.se.

The workshop is an opportunity for the teams to pitch their game idea to the jury prior to the hand-in of the games. This is a good way to get feedback on the idea while there is still time to change what might need changing. 20 teams will be able to attend this event and a registration form will be online on February 2nd. There is a limit to the number of people that each team can send as well, that limit is 3 people. Each participating team will get 10 minutes with the jury. ONLY TEAMS THAT HAND IN A CONCEPT DOCUMENT CAN PARTICIPATE IN THE WORKSHOP! When the registration is online: first come, first serve. Apart from the jury time there will be design exercises and lectures from our partners. Not to mention the fact that there will be several driven student developers there to share tips and experience with.
